"Godzilla Minus One" is now available on Netflix for users in North America and other select territories, months after receiving its Academy Award for Visual Effects.
The film is also now available to rent and purchase across digital platforms.
Netflix Welcomes 'Godzilla Minus One' on Platform
The film made its streaming debut on Netflix last June 1. According to the production, the 'Godzilla Minus One' is available with subtitles and dub for Japanese, English, and other languages.
The Godzilla film made its way to the North American theaters last December 1 after its Early Access Fan Event Screenings. In March, the film became the first ever Japanese film to be awarded by the Academy for Best Visual Effects.
In addition, the production also shared that the 'Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color will be available on Netflix at a later date this summer. This version portrays the film in black and white version.
'Godzilla Minus One' Receives Positive Feedback
The Godzilla franchise is considered one of the trademarks of Japanese films. The franchise debuted its first movie in 1954 and it was in black and white version as well. The 'Godzilla Minus One' marked the franchise's 70th anniversary.
Based on Rotten Tomatoes, the film received a global critical success with a 98% rating. The movie also became the highest-grossing live-action Japanese film in the U.S. box office history.
During the Oscars, director, writer, and visual effects supervisor Takashi Yamazaki received the awards. He was also joined by Kiyoko Shibuya, Masaki Takahashi, and Tatsuki Nojima, who all played equally important parts during the production.
'Godzilla Minus One' and 'Godzilla Minus One/ Minus Color are also available on Amazon, Google Play, Microsoft, Apple iTunes, and other popular digital rental platforms.
