Humane Detects Battery Issues With Charge Case Accessory
In an email sent to users, Humane detailed that an issue was identified with the Charge Case accessory. The company revealed that it received a report of a charging issue after using a third-party USB-C cable and power source.
"Our investigation determined that the battery supplier was no longer meeting our quality standards and that there is a potential that certain battery cells supplied by this vendor may pose a fire safety risk," the company wrote.
In addition, Humane announced that the battery supplier was immediately disqualified. The company is already seeking a new vendor that will pass the accessory's standard.
Humane Offers Compensation for Charging Case Issue
The AI pin maker clarified that the issue is isolated to the battery cells that were sourced from a different company and is unrelated to the hardware design of the accessory.
Moreover, the AI Pin, Battery Booster, and Charge Pad remained unaffected by the issue. According to Humane, these products did not use batteries or any components to run them.
The AI device company is offering a two-month free subscription to its service to compensate for the inconvenience caused by the issue. The Humane AI Pin is known for running its function through a subscription service.
As of writing, the company has yet to share more information about the issue. Humane is expected to announce additional details once the investigation is finished.
