A New 'Life is Strange' Game is Coming This Fall

A new Life is Strange title is hitting consoles and PCs this coming fall with the series' first protagonist coming back to unravel another murder mystery-turned-supernatural.

Set years after the events of the first game, Max Caufield is set to solve another mystery after witnessing one of her friends killed by an unknown assailant.

Expanding Max's powers from the franchise's previous titles, Life is Strange: Double Exposure is giving Max new time-manipulating powers, including an ability to switch between parallel universes.

Longtime players can expect more situational puzzles and challenges as they rewind and manipulate time to uncover new secrets.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure is set to release on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5 on Oct. 29, with the first two chapters available on Oct. 15 for players availing the Ultimate Edition.

'Life is Strange' Series Returns After Last Controversial Game

While many new fans of the series are glad that the original protagonist is returning, a large part of the community is hesitant about the new Life is Strange game.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure is the first franchise title since its developers Deck Nine was involved in controversy after players reported several hidden Nazi imageries in their last game, Life is Strange: True Colors.

This is on top of reports of Deck Nine's management letting "a toxic work culture fester" in its operations.

It did not help that many longtime fans felt that the story of Max was already complete, especially with the events of the first Life is Strange.

Deck Nine is the studio Square Enix tasked to handle the franchise after its original developers, Dontnod Entertainment, left the franchise after Life is Strange 2.

Before True Colors, Deck Nine developed the original game's prequel story, Life is Strange: Before the Storm.

More Dontnod Entertainment Games

For players looking for the same spice and drama as earlier Life is Strange games, its original developer Dontnod Entertainment has released other worthy titles players can get into.

These include the 2020 Games for Impact winner Tell Me Why and the recently released dark fantasy Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden.

Vampyr and Remember Me are good recommendations for players looking for more classic titles.
