ADHD medication supplier Done Global promised to continue providing patients with "easy-access" Adderall pills even after two of its chief officers were indicted for fraud.
In a statement to Gizmodo, Done Global said it would continue its works to "make mental health care accessible for tens of thousands of Americans trapped in a spiraling national crisis."
Last week, the Department of Justice indicted Done Global Ruthia He and clinical president David Brody distributed over 40 million Adderall pills and other ADHD stimulants to patients with "no legitimate medical purpose."
The department alleged that the company earned over $100 million from these illegal operations while many of their patients fell into addiction.
The indictments are expected to greatly impact ADHD medication distribution as the US enters its second year of Adderall shortage, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned.
The CDC estimated that at least "30,000 to 50,000 patients ages 18 years and older" across 50 states could be affected by the crackdown.
US Gov't Faces Crackdown Difficulties on Illegal Prescription Drugs Amid Supply Shortages
Done Global's situation reflects federal officials' current struggles in cracking down on illegal prescription drug trades as supplies for legal medications run short.
According to The Guardian, counterfeit and fake ADHD drugs experienced a sudden spike between 2021 and 2022 when the US Food and Drugs Administration first declared a shortage in Adderall pills.
Since then, the black market for Adderall, Xanax, and other prescription opioids has grown as people search for "easy-access" cheap alternatives to current legal methods at the risk of their health and safety.
The Drugs Enforcement Agency even warned about the rise of counterfeit ADHD stimulants, including Adderall and Xanax, containing fentanyl and methamphetamine.
The agency cautioned people from purchasing or consuming these fake prescription drugs due to their addictive properties, much more than the regular Adderall pills.

How to Weather Adderall Shortage?
With the impact of the Adderall shortage continues to be felt across 7 million Americans, many people are forced to weather the effects of the ADHD medication shortage through various means.
One popular and safe method is to refer to local pharmacies, rather than big healthcare chains, to see if they still have any Adderall pills.
For those needing daily intakes, skipping medication once or twice a month would only have minimal impact on their health and preserve the drugs for more dire situations.
Just consult your therapist before doing this as it can hinder the established recovery routine.
