Mobile operator T-Mobile is expanding its Samsung range of devices, adding the gold Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone and the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
The limited-edition Samsung Galaxy S5 Gold will become available late next week, on May 30, while the 4G LTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is already up for pre-order. With the tablet, interested buyers will also benefit from free data for life, provided that they meet the specific terms and conditions to be eligible.
"Thanks to the Un-carrier's Tablet Freedom program - customers can add their new tablet to their voice plan completely free of charge and get nearly 1.2 GB of free 4G LTE data every month through the end of 2014 - and 200 MB of free data for life every month after that," reads T-Mobile's press release on Wednesday, May 21.
"In today's connected world, there is just no good reason people should feel stuck with a Wi-Fi-only tablet," added T-Mobile Senior Vice President of Product Marketing Jason Young. "Our Tablet Freedom effort is a full-on assault against those restrictions that keep tablet owners from experiencing life beyond the Wi-Fi zone - with a beautiful, unleashed tablet like the Galaxy Note 10.1."
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 sports a 10.1-inch HD display, a fast quad-core processor and neat specs and features all around. T-Mobile is now offering the slate for just $99.99 down followed by 24 equal monthly payments on its Equipment Installment Plan.
While the tablet will be immediately available for sale online, it will not hit T-Mobile's participating retail stores nationwide until June 4. Moreover, the carrier is still offering to pay the early termination fees (ETF) for those stuck on a contract with another carrier.
To make the switch and get a new device, simply bring in your old tablet and get an instant credit depending on its value. You can then apply that credit toward the purchase of any new tablet, smartphone, or accessories. Bring your ETF bill over to T-Mobile or mail it in and the carrier will pay the balance for you.
It's also worth pointing out that T-Mobile is also offering $10 percent off its most popular internet data plans now, and the offer stands until the end of the year. For users on voice plans, this translates into nearly 1.2GB of free 4G LTE data per month through the end of 2014. After that, users can opt for data plans starting at just $10 per month with voice service.
The limited-edition Samsung Galaxy S5 in a shimmering metallic gold color option, meanwhile, will arrive just in time for the summer. As previously mentioned, this model will launch on May 30 and will be available "for a limited time" in select T-Mobile retail stores, as well as the carrier's online store.
