The popularity of "Demon Slayer" is hard to miss within the anime community. It has tons of complex characters, a story that pulls you in, and it helps that the animation is also beautifully made. With the franchise close to an end, it will go out with three films to top it off.
'Demon Slayer' Film Trilogy
There are tons of anime titles that have huge fan bases, and you can count "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" as one of them. You can easily find cosplayers in conventions that don outfits and carry weapons from the anime's universe.
Like many good titles, the show will eventually come to an end, and that time is inching closer. Going out with a bang, the show will end with three films that will have theatrical releases, as reported by Gizmodo.
In an announcement from Crunchyroll, it confirmed that it has acquired the rights to the upcoming "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle," which means that the films will be produced under the popular anime platform.
"Crunchyroll is thrilled to be able to bring this trilogy of films to fans, on the big screen, and it promises to be one of the truly epic and consequential pop cultural events of our time when it hits theaters," the company's President Rahul Purini stated.
It's only right that Crunchyroll will have a hand in creating the ending given that it has been "a part of it from the beginning." That way, we can expect consistent story-telling and will hopefully live up to the quality that has been shown in the series.
The trilogy will be co-released by Sony and will be distributed globally. Strangely enough, there are a couple of excluded countries from Asia including Japan. For now, a release date has yet to be announced but a teaser has already been released.
It won't be the first time that the franchise released a film. Back in 2021, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train" hit the theaters and it was a big hit, so the trilogy is already expected to get a lot of attention as well.

The Popularity of the Franchise
With it being available on Netflix and Prime Video, it was an easily accessible title that could appeal to fans all around the world. It also helped that those who have watched the series have praised it on social media, further adding fame to the title.
According to Game Rant, it has already sold over 150 million copies of its 23 volumes globally. The adventures of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke have been compelling from the beginning and have hooked fans to keep watching until the very end.
With the ultimate goal of avenging the death of his family and turning his sister into a demon, Tanjiro has set out to find Muzan, and in that process, the show has brought out aspects of family, adventure, bravery, combat, and many others. It's only appropriate that the show would end on the big screen.
