Proton Offers Protection Against Privacy Concerns on AI Training

In a blog post, Proton shared that the idea for its new product stemmed from the growing concern of the public against data tracking and collection to train privacy-invading AI models. Docs in Proton Drive are secured with the same privacy rules across the company.

"Instead of storing your data in the US, where it can be subject to government surveillance, Proton is protected by strict Swiss privacy laws," the company announced.

Moreover, Proton does not hold access to the keys of the documents. Users are the only ones with the keys to read and share their documents, giving them full control of their data.

Proton Boasts Secured Document Creation With Docs

According to Proton, the Docs is designed for a simple experience. Users can create and edit documents within the Proton Drive with full control belonging to the users only.

The feature also promotes collaboration as changes are reflected immediately across people who have access to a document. View cursors and presence indicators are also presented in the app for easier monitoring.

Proton revealed that even keystrokes and cursor movements from Docs are encrypted and kept away from the company. The online document app is targeted towards people who often deal with sensitive information.

Interested users can create their free Proton Drive account. The feature will soon be available to all users in the following days.

Proton offers a forever free service with a storage cap of 5GB. The Drive Plus plan comes at € 4.99 per month for 200GB of storage along with other benefits while the €12.99 Proton Unlimited offers premium access to all Proton services.
