Meta launched a play now, pay later scheme for eligible U.S. customers who plan to get the Quest 3 headset, starting at $24.99 monthly for the 128GB version.

A 24-month subscription to Meta Quest+ and Meta Warranty Plus are included in the plan with 0% interest through Affirm.

Meta to Boost Quest 3 Headset Sales With BNPL

The buy now, pay later (BNPL) scheme has been a popular choice among consumers in e-commerce. Companies like Affirm are known for offering financial assistance to people who seek a certain product but are unwilling to pay the entire fee upfront.

When Quest 3 was introduced, the headset failed to attract more customers due to its high price compared to its predecessor, Quest 2. However, the Meta headset is considerably more affordable than the Apple Vision Pro.

The 24-month program will allow customers to pay a monthly fee of $24.99 for the 128GB version and $34.99 for the 512GB version.

Meta Promotes Quest+ Subscription

Meta launched the Quest+ subscription last year, allowing Quest users to access "the best titles on the platform." The additional subscription to the plan will unlock two popular titles per month and will rotate through the game catalog.

The company also announced that eligible customers can get exclusive discounts for select games and apps to expand their Quest library. Meta also assured that several experiences will soon be added once the App Lab is integrated later this year.

The Meta Quest+ subscription is available for $7.99 per month or $59.99 annually for people who will purchase it separately. Meta claimed that customers could spend less compared to purchasing each item on the play now, pay later individually.
