Microsoft to Transition China-Based Employees to Apple Devices
In an internal memo obtained by Bloomberg, Microsoft announced that employees must soon stop using Android-powered devices and start using Apple devices in their workplace. Once implemented, the devices will be used to verify the employee's identity through a login.
In addition, the company is also mandating the companywide use of Microsoft Authenticator password manager and Identity Pass app.
The decision was finalized as Microsoft employees in China are prevented from accessing corporate resources. Google's services are primarily blocked by the Chinese government, hence, Google Play is not useful for China-based employees.
The only way for the company to download the mandatory security apps is by utilizing Apple's App Store.
