Cities: Skylines 2 Console Version Delayed Indefinitely Due to 'Unresolved Issues'

The console release for Cities: Skylines 2 has just been delayed indefinitely as game publisher Paradox Interactive still needs some time to address "unresolved issues" on the console port.

The game publisher claimed that current progress on the console port "has not yet met" the stability and performance targets for it to be ready for the supposed October release date.

Paradox Interactive said further updates on the development are expected around August, including a possible new release schedule for Cities: Skylines 2 on Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

It is worth noting that Skylines 2 developer Colossal Order has reportedly managed to achieve all goals, outside of a few glitches and mod issues, for the game's PC release.

Paradox Interactive Games Plagued with Development Issues

This was not the first time the console port for Cities: Skylines 2 and other Paradox Interactive games have faced controversies as development problems continue to plague the publisher.

Before Skylines 2, the publisher had already faced backlash after abandoning Star Trek: Infinite just nearly seven months after it first launched.

A similar issue also happened after Prison Architect 2 developer Double Eleven left the publisher over disputes on "commercial agreement" following two release delays.

It did not help that the company recently laid off staff members for its The Sims-like simulation Life by You as it turns the canceled game into a nearly $20 million tax write-off.

The game also suffered several delays before it was ultimately canned earlier last month.
