Overwatch 2 Partners With 'Transformers' Franchise for New Skins

Overwatch 2 announced a collaboration with "Transformers" bringing new franchise-inspired themes to popular in-game characters, starting July 9.

Blizzard Entertainment first teased the collaboration during the launch of Season 11 last June.

Overwatch 2 Welcomes 'Transformers' Skins

In a recent trailer, Blizzard revealed that four heroes will be getting new skins. This includes Reinhardt as Optimus Prime, Bastion as Bumblebee, Ramatra as Megatron, and Illari as Arcee.

Fans immediately noticed the high-quality design for the collab which came as a surprise for them. Some fans even describe it as the best "Transformers" content in recent years.

Meanwhile, others saw the missed opportunity to give Bastion a Bumblebee skin and were surprised that a character as new as Illari was included in the collection.

Overwatch 2 Players Awaits Summer Games' Comeback

Aside from the collaboration, Overwatch 2 fans still have another event to look forward to on July 9. The annual Summer Games event is coming back to bring fan-favorite game modes.

The soccer-inspired game Lucioball is slated to come back during the Summer Games 2024. In addition, a competitive beach volleyball match that will allow players to pit against each other will be released as well.

The event will also reveal summer-themed skins and items, including Lifeguard Mercy, Surfer Moira, and Swimmer Doomfist skins which are fitted to players who will participate in Summer Games 2024.

Players are encouraged to gather as many friends and team up against other teams to improve their chances of winning in the new game modes. "Transformers"-inspired game modes such as the Autobot Assault and Decepticon Domination will be available for a limited duration.
