The hotly-anticipated LG G3 is now finally official and the powerhouse will hit all major carriers in the U.S. in the coming weeks.
The LG G3 is the company's latest flagship and its most powerful smartphone to date, and it certainly doesn't disappoint. This new Android beast rocks top-of-the-line specs and features able to take on any rival. It's like a dream come true for smartphone enthusiasts and is set to launch worldwide on more than 170 carriers.
In the U.S., all four major carriers - AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile - have already confirmed that they will be offering the new LG G3 and users interested in the handset can already pre-register to receive all the latest updates as soon as they become available.
"We are excited to add the LG G3 to AT&T's leading device portfolio this year," said Jeff Bradley, AT&T senior vice president of Devices. "With its razor sharp 5.5 inch Quad HD display to its laser auto camera focus, the LG G3 is an innovative smartphone for consumers looking for the latest technologies all running on the network that covers more than 99 percent of all Americans."
"The #LGG3 is coming this summer to the Verizon Wireless network and, yes, it is #XLTE ready," touted Verizon for its part.
"Sprint and LG have a strong history of innovation together - LG G3 powered by Sprint Spark continues that legacy by offering our customers the new smartphone in a Sprint exclusive, Shine Gold color," reads Sprint's teaser announcement. "What's even better is Sprint customers can enjoy LG G3's powerful 13MP camera, 5.5-inch Quad HD display, and the power of Sprint Spark, paired with the Sprint Framily Plan without worrying about sharing data."
T-Mobile has also set up a pre-registration page for the new LG G3, noting that the smartphone will join its lineup this summer.
On the other hand, the four major U.S. carriers have yet to offer exact availability details for the LG G3, or reveal their pricing schemes for the handset.
The LG G3 is one of the most powerful smartphones launched so far, boasting a stunning 5.5-inch QHD display with an incredible resolution of 2560 x 1440, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 2GB/3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage capacity, and a microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 128GB. Other specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Laser Auto Focus, a 2.1-megapixel front shooter, and a 3,000 mAh removable battery. The smartphone runs the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, with a far simplified, flatter LG UI.
