The newly-unveiled LG G3 powerhouse is set to launch in the UK next month, with a starting price of £489.98 (including VAT) for the unlocked model.
The LG G3 is the latest flagship smartphone to launch on Google's popular Android platform and is LG's most powerful smartphone to date. The handset boasts top-of-the-line specs and features, a stunning display and powerful internals all around. The LG G3 seems more than ready to take on any rival, and it loks like it will launch slightly earlier than in the UK, or at least the unlocked model will.
UK retailer Unlocked Mobiles has now put the new LG G3 up for pre-order, listing the smartphone with an availability date of June 24. Interested buyers will be able to choose from three color options for the LG G3: Metallic Black, Shine Gold, and Silk White. As expected, that £489.98 starting price is for the LG G3 variant with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage capacity.
As a reminder, the LG G3 boasts a 5.5-inch display with a whopping Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a high pixel density of 538 pixels per inch (ppi). Under the hood, the smartphone packs a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor, paired with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM. The LG G3 also has 16GB/32GB of internal storage capacity, as well as a micro SD card slot for additional memory of up to 128GB.
The smartphone further rocks a 13-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Laser Auto Focus, which is designed to use a laser beam to accurately measure the distance between the image subject and the camera. Other specs include a 2.1-megapixel front shooter and a 3,000 mAh removable battery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Smart Ready, NFC, and A-GPS/Glonass.
In terms of weight and dimensions, the new LG G3 measures 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm (5.76 x 2.94 x 0.35 inches) and weighs in at 149 grams. The smartphone is made from a mixture of metal and plastic, which gives it a premium look and feel. Moreover, the smartphone's casing is also scratch- and fingerprint-resistant, while the Gorilla Glass 3 coating on the display offers extra protection.
