RGG's Next Game Remains Mystery

Previously, the studio revealed that its next project will not be Yakuza Kiwami 3. Series director Masayoshi Yokoyama already hinted at the possibility of making the remake for the third game but assured that it is not the priority at the moment.

RGG is not keen on sharing more details for its upcoming game, given that the announcement is still months away. However, the studio teased that the fans will be "surprised" by the upcoming game, which could mean a major title is on the way.

The franchise's 20th anniversary will be celebrated in 2025 and fans are already preparing for the studio's upcoming surprise. Previously, the studio released Yakuza 0 as its 10th special anniversary project.

Like a Dragon Preps for Live-Action Adaptation

Last month, Amazon announced a new Prime Video live-adaptation series based on the franchise. "Yakuza: Like a Dragon" is set to premiere on the streaming platform on October 25.

The series focuses on Kazuma's life as he transitions from a Yakuza member to an ordinary citizen. Fans will join Kazuma as he tries to navigate his new life away from the organization.

"The unbridled passion, talent, and countless hours of efforts from the entire team have helped bring this spectacular story to life in the form of a riveting series that will be launched this year, the year of the dragon," said Masaharu Take, director of the series.
