Slack Rolls Out iPhone Widgets for Easier Work Catch-Up

Slack introduced four new iPhone widgets that allow users to hop on immediately to their workplace conversation in the app after unlocking their device.

Three widgets are intended for the homescreen while the other is added to the lockscreen for easier access.

Slack Optimizes Widgets for iPhone Users

In an X post, Slack announced that the homescreen widgets include features like Catch Up, Status, and Launcher. The Catch Up widget is designed to show all unread channels, private messages, and mentions while the user is away.

The Status widget allows users to set and clear their status in the selected workplace. A bigger version includes options like focusing for an hour, taking a 30-minute break, or lunch for an hour. For now, these options are not yet customizable.

The Slack Launcher is a lockscreen widget that will directly open the app once clicked after the device is unlocked. This will save employees the time to navigate from their several apps to locate Slack.

Slack Increases Productivity for iPhone Users

The new Slack widgets are designed for work-centered people who seek more focused widgets during their working hours. Directly using widgets will automatically set a focused mode for working people as it could lessen distractions from visiting other apps.

Earlier this year, Slack debuted its new in-house tools which integrate AI to the productivity platform. The new program was designed to summarize long messages and replies through an AI model.

Slack offers a free model that can be used by workers on a budget. The Pro plan offers more features and AI tools for small teams. Other tiers include Business+ and Enterprise Grid which cater to bigger companies.
