Sony's high-end Xperia Z2 smartphone may not fit everyone's budget, but the newly-launched Xperia T3 may be the next best thing.
The new Sony Xperia T3 is the company's latest smartphone and comes in the mid-range segment of the market, offering style at an affordable price point. Sony touts it as the world's thinnest smartphone with a 5.3-inch display, promising that it will look and feel premium all around.
Despite the fact that the Sony Xperia T3 doesn't boast the latest, high-end specifications, the smartphone makes no compromises in terms of design. Sony has used premium build materials for the handset's body, including a stainless steel frame and a matte back cover.
In fact, that stainless steel frame will apparently not only be stylish, but also functional, acting as structural support and as the smartphone's antenna at the same time.
"Xperia T3 has been crafted with attention to detail for those who know how to appreciate distinctive design in their everyday life. The T3 is packed with the latest beautiful technology from Sony - including leading digital imaging expertise and a vivid HD display - all within a stylish, stainless steel frame," touts Calum MacDougall, Sony Mobile Communications Director of Xperia Marketing. "The combination of this beautiful technology and the premium design ensures the T3 immediately stands apart from the competition."
The Sony Xperia T3 resembles the flagship Xperia Z2 in nearly every aspect of design, complete with the dedicated camera button on the side for more convenience.
In terms of specifications, the new Sony Xperia T3 sports a large 5.3-inch display with a 720p HD resolution, but has Sony's Bravia and Triluminos technology to make up for it. Under the hood, the handset packs a decent Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. Other specs include 8GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory, an 8-megapixel rear camera with Sony's Exmor RS image sensor, and a 1.1-megapixel front shooter.
Sony has yet to offer pricing details for the Xperia T3, but these mid-range specs suggest that it should come at a budget-friendly price point. The Xperia T3 will launch globally from the end of July and will be available in black, white, and purple color options. To get a better glimpse of the handset, check out the video below.
