Microsoft has reportedly added a full-screen pop-up promotion that advertises its cloud storage service OneDrive for Windows 11 users.
The company is utilizing its recommendation tool for Windows users to try its cloud service for additional storage.
Microsoft Boosts OneDrive Subscription With New Ads
Several users shared that a new full-screen ad is appearing after conducting a Windows update. Once the users restarted their PC a pop-up attempt will be shown advertising the OneDrive.
Windows Latest shared a screenshot of the promotion which looked similar to a process that needs to be done after buying the device.
"We can back up your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders in the cloud so you have peace of mind knowing they're protected even if something happens to this PC," the pop-up read.
The users are given the option to skip the recommendation for now or to push through it by clicking next. The pop-up automatically appears after starting the PC.
Microsoft Pushes OneDrive Services to Users
According to Microsoft, using OneDrive could protect lifetime memories through secured cloud storage. It also offers easy collaboration tools that allow sharing and editing in real time.
The cloud service also promises that the user will have all their documents, desktops, and folders backed up on OneDrive and will be accessible anywhere. There is also an automatic file update that syncs in the background.
If the user clicks "Next," a Windows Backup app will open and will start to sync the files to Microsoft Account's OneDrive storage locker. A free 5GB of storage is given to all account holders.
