Sonos Updates Battery-Draining Issue of App for iPhones After Complaints

Sonos announced that an iOS update is on its way to fix the app's battery-draining issue that has been plaguing its users.

Several users have complained about the app's ability to drain the battery once opened on an iPhone, along with other previous issues.

Sonos Issues Solution on Complaints Against New App

Sonos launched its revamped app last May which quickly gained scrutiny from the community. The new app failed to impress the users due to a lack of core features and ease of usage.

Amid the ongoing concerns, the battery-draining issue has become a hot topic among the community. Sonos shared that its iOS app will be receiving a new update that will mitigate its excessive use of the phone battery.

The company also shared that it is continuously working to improve the app. Several features have yet to debut on the system and Sonos is looking for ways to satisfy its users as some of them already stated they uninstalled the app due to its issues.

Sonos CEO Apologizes for Current App Performance

In a blog post, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence acknowledge the current status of the redesigned app of the company. He also shared that all employees are pained at the moment for letting their customers down.

"Since launch, we have found a number of issues. Fixing these issues has delayed our prior plan to quickly incorporate missing features and functionality," Spence wrote.

Every two weeks the company has been actively updating the software to improve its performance. Some of the notable features that have yet to be added include the improvement of volume responsiveness, user interface changes based on customer feedback, and improving alarm reliability.

The company also teased that in September and October, the app will restore the edit mode for Playlists and Queue.
