Sonos has officially introduced its first-ever wireless headphones called Ace, after months of speculations for the product.
The new $449 Ace headphones offer a noise-canceling feature and seamless integration with other Sonos products with a simple push of a button.
Sonos Debuts 'Most Requested Product Ever'
During an exclusive first look even in New York, CEO Patrick Spence shared that the device was requested by "tens of thousands" of customers. Sonos took a couple of years to develop its first-ever wireless headphones.
The CEO described the company's 2024 venture as a "new multibillion-dollar" product. The next-generation lineup of Sonos devices is expected to start generating revenue by the second half of the year.
The Sonos Ace headphones offer spatial audio and active noise cancelation as expected from a wireless device. The device is also supported by Dolby Atmos to ensure premium-quality audio.
It can be used on Apple and Android devices for up to 30 hours. The Ace headphones also use the USB-C charger to ensure the rapid charging of the device.
Sonos Improves Roam 2 Speakers With Refreshed Look
Sonos also released a revamped version of the Roam portable speaker. The device is considered to be the company's cheapest portable speaker in the catalog which retails at $179.
The company claimed that existing Roam owners would only notice a subtle improvement on the device. The Roam 2 speaker offers the "same rich, detailed sound and bass." However, the main point of the refreshed is its quicker setup and streamlined controls.
Original model owners of Roam have often complained about the device's confusing button setup. The Roam 2 allows users to connect smartphones over Bluetooth immediately instead of requiring a Wi-Fi connection.
The device still offers up to 10 hours of battery life, water, and dust resistance, and supports automatic Trueplay tuning.
The Sonos Ace is now open for preorder and will start shipping on June 5, while Roam 2 is available on the official website.
