The rumored Galaxy Tab S tablets have leaked extensively as of late, and now the 10.5-inch model appears in a few retail shots.
Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Tab S lineup of tablets is expected to debut next week, as the company has an event scheduled for June 12. While Samsung has plenty of slates on the market already, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S will reportedly launch as the first Samsung tablets to boast AMOLED displays.
The Galaxy Tab S lineup will reportedly consist of two models - one with an 8.4-inch screen and the other with a larger 10.5-inch display. The latter has now surfaced in a few retail images, showing off its design and confirming some of its features.
According to Sam Mobile, which posted several images of the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, the slate will have an ultra-thin profile of just 6.6mm, and weigh in at 465 grams. It will sport the same perforated design as the Galaxy S5, as well as a copper gold-like accent on its sides.
In terms of features, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets will reportedly come with Ultra Power Saving Mode, Download Booster, and a fingerprint scanner, among other things. The fingerprint sensor is expected to have similar functions as on the Galaxy S5, including device unlocking and PayPal payments.
The newly-leaked images further reveal that the Galaxy Tab S models will also come with Remote PC, a feature that has proved to be quite popular on the Samsung Galaxy Note PRO. Another feature, meanwhile, will come in handy to those who have a Samsung phone as well, as it will allegedly allow them to sync their phone with the Galaxy Tab S in order to take incoming calls directly from the slate. This feature would overlay a small window on the app currently running in order to notify you of an incoming call.
When it comes to specifications, the Galaxy Tab S tablets are expected to launch with powerful internals all around. The slates will sport AMOLED displays with 2560 x 1600 resolution, octa-core Exynos 5420 processors with Mali-T628 graphics, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card slot for additional memory, 8-megapixel rear cameras, and 2.1-megapixel front shooters. On the software side, the tablets will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, with Samsung's new Magazine UX on top. As previously mentioned, the Galaxy Tab S tablets are expected to debut on June 12 and go on sale by the end of the month.
In separate news, another Samsung tablet has been spotted in the wild, while it was being used as part of an LTE Broadcast demonstration during the French Open at Roland Garros. The tablet in question reportedly boasts a large 12-inch display with a 4K UHD resolution. This slate may not be part of the upcoming Galaxy Tab S lineup, but it may nevertheless make its debut at the same Samsung event on June 12. No other details are available at this point, but we'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more.
