Disney Plus, ESPN, Hulu Subscription to Hike Price Starting October 17

Disney announced that it will start to increase the subscription price across its plans and streaming platforms to further boost its revenue.

This will affect subscription prices on Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Hulu + Live, and bundle offerings.

Disney to Introduce Another Subscription Increase

Disney revealed a new price matrix that will affect its subscribers starting October 17. All individual monthly and annual subscription plans will experience some changes in its price.

For instance, Disney+ with ads will cost $9.99 per month while the ad-free version will start at $15.99 per month and $159.99 per year.

Hulu's ad-supported tier will increase to $9.99 per month and $99.99 per year while its ad-free tier will become $18.99 per month. ESPN+ with ads will soon cost $11.99 per month and $119.99 per year.

Last October, the company announced a price hike across its ad-free plans. Disney also unveiled its cheaper ad-supported tier as an alternative to its subscribers. 

Disney Adds More Offers, Hikes Price on Bundled Plans

Aside from basic and individual plans, Disney also revealed price changes in its bundle offerings. This will affect the Duo Basic tier which includes ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu and will soon cost $10.99 per month.

Likewise, Hulu + Live TV with ads will soon start at $82.99 per month while the ad-free tier will cost $95.99 per month.

Disney+ is also set to debut access to ABC News Live and several curated playlists from the company's catalog starting September 4. The first playlist will feature kid-friendly content and will change over the following weeks.

Disney is also exploring the addition of four viewing categories such as Seasonal, Epic Stories (Marvel and Star Wars fare), Throwbacks, and Real Life in the future.
