One of the most iconic crossovers of 2024 is here and it involves the newly released and massively hyped Black Myth: Wukong. Son Goku will join the action role-playing game (RPG), which is made possible through the latest introduction of the Dragon Ball mod.
It should be noted, however, that and while this is an unofficial crossover.
Son Goku remains one of the most iconic characters in pop culture history, and fans of the series know that Dragon Ball's main protagonist was modeled after Sun Wukong, also known as the Chinese Monkey King.
Black Myth: Wukong Gets Goku in New Dragon Ball Mod
Players of the hit action RPG Black Myth: Wukong have long asked to make it "Black Myth: Goku." Their wish is now guaranteed thanks to a recent mod shared with gamers. In the latest mod shared by players on X, instead of having the Chinese mythology-inspired bidepal monkey as the main character, it gets a Son Goku skin in his classic Keikogi outfit.
The iconic orange and blue attire, along with Goku's likeness, can now be used in Black Myth: Wukong to fight against celestial creatures and the Monkey King's famed opponents.
It should be noted that this mod is simply focused on replacing Wukong as Goku, and there are no special experiences or quests to complete that are related to Dragon Ball's story.
Where to Download Goku Mod for Black Myth: Wukong?
The mod was uploaded by NorskPL on Nexus Mods, and it is available for users to download for free. The mod can be easily installed to change the Monkey King to the powerful Saiyan hero.
It is an easy-to-install mod that does not require changing much from the game's code, allowing players to enjoy the action adventure in the shoes of the popular anime fighter.
Dragon Ball's Massive Pop Culture Influence
Kids from the late 80s and early 90s who were exposed to Japanese pop culture know Dragon Ball, an iconic manga and anime series that follows Goku's journey from his arrival on Earth to being one of the most powerful beings in manga history. The latest anime series from the franchise was Dragon Ball Super, which ran from 2015 and ended in 2018.
The franchise also saw various game adaptations that showcase iconic arcs, events, and stories from the manga and anime. These were centered on both canon and non-canon plots of the series.
Crossovers are not uncommon for Dragon Ball as it previously collaborated with Epic Games' Fortnite, showcasing the Saiyans and their antagonists on the battle island.
Many have anticipated Game Science's Black Myth: Wukong for its excellent showcase of the action RPG genre that was inspired by the novel Journey to the West, which features the story of Sun Wukong. In this mod crossover, a new version of the Monkey King is made available for gamers to experience as the mod allows him to be replaced by Son Goku.
