Apple's latest September fall event, also known as It's Glowtime, gave the world a preview of the new devices from the tech giant. In particular, the spotlight was given to the iPhone 16 series, particularly the iPhone 16 Pro.

The iPhone 16 Pro series will still feature the Pro and Pro Max models. As revealed during the event, Apple will open preorders by Friday, September 13. The devices are expected to ship out beginning next week, September 20.

In anticipation, here are five things Apple has included in its newest smartphones.

Apple Intelligence

The Cupertino-based tech giant has touted that the iPhone 16 Pro series is "built for Apple Intelligence." While the same is true for the base models of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, it should be noted that the Pro models are more adept at bringing the technology to users due to its special chipset.

However, those interested to purchase the new devices should also take note that Apple Intelligence will not be available until around October. Apple Intelligence is expected to be released along with iOS 18.

Powered by the A18 Pro chipset, Apple-built generative models will feel right at home with the new iPhone 16 Pro series, featuring on-device AI and guarantees user privacy with the Private Cloud Compute technology.

A18 Pro: iPhone's Most Powerful Processor

Apple's new A18 Pro chipset is exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models, and it features a 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine, which are new compared to iPhone 15's A17 Pro.

It promises to bring users immense processing power and capabilities, including accessing Apple's AI, creativity boost, gaming improvements, pro camera features, and better graphics.

The New Capture Button

Previously circulating rumors have been correct about Apple adding a new physical button to the new iPhone 16 series, and it's none other than the Capture Button. The Capture Button offers a new functionality that improves photo and video-taking capabilities on the devices.

Users can either slide it from left to right to zoom in or out and lightly press it to adjust focus and depth. Photos can be taken by fully pressing it for a faster and more intuitive way to control the device's cameras.

Bigger Display Sizes

Apple has made the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max's display bigger and its bezels thinner, which will allow users to see more on their devices without necessarily making its body larger. The iPhone 16 Pro features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display and ProMotion, as opposed to the iPhone 15 Pro's 6.1-inch.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max, on the other hand, is getting a 6.9-inch screen, which is the same display as the iPhone 16 Pro. It is larger than the iPhone 15 Pro Max's 6.7-inch.

'Best' iPhone Batteries

With chip improvements and optimizations, Apple also touts that the iPhone 16 Pro series features the "best" iPhone batteries there ever was. Users can get up to 27 hours of video playback, 22 hours of streaming, and 85 hours of audio playback on the iPhone 16 Pro, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max features 33 hours of video playback, 29 hours of streams, and 105 hours of audio playback.

It also boasts of 25W MagSafe charging, 15W of Qi2 wireless charging, and 50 percent charge in 30 minutes with wired USB-C in either 20W or 30W adapters.

Should You Upgrade to the new iPhone 16 Pro?

Despite all the touted upgrades Apple delivered with the iPhone 16 Pro, users coming in from the iPhone 15 Pro series need not stress themselves about getting a new smartphones. There are only few differences between the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro, such as the Capture Button. This feature, however, can spell the difference for those who want more convenience when taking photos and videos using their smartphone.

For those who are looking to make the switch to the iPhone 16 Pro after coming from the iPhone 14 or older devices, there are significant differences between these devices that can justify the switch to the newer model.
