Verizon Wireless has officially announced that it will start selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 on Thursday, June 26.
If you've been waiting to get your hands on the 8-inch Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and you don't mind signing a contract with Verizon, you're in luck. The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 will join Big Red's lineup on June 26, sporting a $379.99 price tag on a two-year contract. That price tag is quite hefty, but Verizon wants to sweeten the deal by offering the slate at a $279.99 promotional price for a limited time. This promotional price is also on a two-year contract, and Verizon doesn't mention when this offer will expire.
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 sports an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor under the hood, coupled with 1.5GB of RAM. The tablet features 16GGB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 64GB, 1 3-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front facing shooter. On the software side, the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. A 4,450 battery will keep things up and running.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 comes with the Multi-User feature on board, allowing several people to have their own accounts for operating the tablet so they wouldn't bother the others. Verizon highlights this feature as perfect for families in marketing the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0.
"The family tablet. Give it to someone for 5 minutes and all of the sudden the wallpaper is changed, apps are downloaded and rearranged, and there's also now a password. And that's just after one person's had it; wait until everyone has had their turn," Verizon writes in its announcement, touting the importance of the Multi-User feature.
The carrier further touts the entertaining side of the tablet, as the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 can serve as a remote control and TV guide via the WatchON app. Moreover, the tablet supports XLTE, allowing for blazing-fast speeds and great connections on Big Red's network. Interested customers will also be able to add the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 to an existing MORE Everything account for an extra $10 per month.
