ASUS has launched its new Transformer Book Flip TP300LA convertible laptop that runs Microsoft's latest Windows 8.1 64-bit, selling the device for $799 through the Microsoft Store.
Convertible devices have gained significant ground recently, as they allow users to experience more without having to purchase separate gadgets. Convertibles that combine laptops and tablets are a great way of offering consumers the best of both worlds, delivering the performance of a laptop and the convenience of a highly-portable slate in a single package.
The ASUS Transformer Book Flip now on sale comes with a 13.3-inch full HD touch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and packs an Intel Core i5-4210U processor clocked at 1.7GHz under the hood. The device also features Turbo Boost Technology that can crank it up to 2.70GHz, while 8GB DDR3L 1,600 MHz RAM will ensure a fast and smooth performance. The ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP300LA also boasts discrete high-performance graphics and provides an impressive battery life of up to seven hours on a single charge, thanks to its three-cell lithium-ion battery. The device sports 500GB of internal storage capacity and its display comes with 10-finger multi-touch support.
"The ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP300LA gives you the ultimate flexibility, with a display that can be rotated to any angle from 0 to 360 degrees. For work, use it as you would any other laptop. For games, flip it into a tablet with a Full HD screen. Or for watching movies or presentations, just flip it to any convenient angle to easily and comfortably share your screen," touts the product description on the Microsoft Store.
The device further features Instant On resume from sleep, and it automatically saves all data when the battery level drops to 5 percent so nothing gets lost. Other features include SonicMaster audio technology, a hairline-textured brushed metal design, and great portability, as the ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP300LA weighs just 3.70 lbs (1.67 kg). In terms of dimensions, the device measures 13.00 x 8.90 x 0.90 inches (330.20 x 226.06 x 22.86 mm).
ASUS announced two models for its Transformer Book Flip back in June, but the larger one with a 15.6-inch display, NVIDIA graphics and an optional disc drive is yet to become available in the U.S. For more information about this convertible laptop, head over to ASUS' website at this link.
