Motorola officially unveiled its new Moto X at the IFA 2014 trade show earlier this month and now the company has offered availability details.
The new Moto X will go up for pre-order on Tuesday, Sept. 16, alongside the Moto X Pure Edition, the Moto Hint accessory, and the Motorola Turbo Charger. The Moto 360 smartwatch will also go back in stock the same day, as it had sold out in no time once it hit commercial availability.
"Choose to beat the crowd. Starting Tuesday, September 16, pre-orders will open for some of the new Motorola products we announced earlier this month, including Moto X for AT&T, Moto X - Pure Edition, Moto Hint and Motorola Turbo Charger," the company announced in a blog post on Sunday, Sept. 14. "All four products will be available for pre-order on motorola.com starting at 11 a.m. CT. Shipping dates vary by product and will be provided at checkout."
"Plus, we have more great news...Moto 360 will be back in stock starting Tuesday in the U.S. on motorola.com. You'll want to hurry as quantities will be limited."
The new Moto X is the company's latest flagship smartphone, sporting notable improvements all around compared to its predecessor, while also retaining the slew of customization options that made the original Moto X so popular.
As a reminder, the new Moto X comes with a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, at a pixel density of 423 pixels per inch (ppi). Under the hood, the handset packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, with Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB of RAM. Other specs include 16GB or 32GB of internal storage capacity, a 13-megapixel rear camera with ring flash, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a 2,300 mAh battery.
The new Moto X will be available for pre-order on Tuesday, Sept. 16, for $99 on a two-year contract with AT&T. The Pure Edition, meanwhile, will be available with no carrier ties for $499.99. As previously mentioned, the Moto Hint and the Motorola Turbo Charger will also go up for pre-order, while the wildly popular Moto 360 smartwatch will go back on sale, in limited quantities.
