Apple’s latest iOS 8.0.2 update brings even more issues – Here’s the deal

Apple's latest iOS 8.0.2 update doesn't fix things for all users, on the contrary - it apparently brings along a slew of other issues.

The company first botched the iOS 8 launch earlier this month when it pulled all HealthKit-related applications from the App Store over some bug. Apple then released iOS 8.0.1 to patch things up, but that update left many iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users without cellular service or Touch ID functionality.

The new iOS 8.0.2 rolled out on Friday, Sept. 26, and was supposed to fix what the previous iOS 8.0.1 had messed up, but instead the latest update again wreaks more havoc than does good.

Apple's forum has growing threads with users reporting a slew of issues following the update to iOS 8.0.2. Multiple users are now reporting issues with cellular service, Bluetooth, non-iMessage text messages, Wi-Fi connectivity, sound level meter, Safari issues, battery drainage, random reboots, and more.

"Apple, are you kidding me? I upgraded my iPhone 5 to the new iOS 8.0.2 (only because I was forced to - as apps that I use would not update without the upgrade) and now my cellular service is dead," one user complained in a thread on Apple's forum. "I am a US resident, on AT&T and I was told NOT to upgrade to 8.0.1 because of the same issue, and now its happening again. I have been an Apple customer for 8 years, but I think I need to stop buying apple products, including the new iPhone 6. Way a go Apple - this is how you lose your customers by being indifferent. Its really surprising how one of the biggest companies in the world is so apathetic to its long time customers."

Other users reported very poor wireless connectivity after the update, a slow performance overall, severe battery drainage, random reboots, lost data, and persistent issues with cellular service, on various iOS devices. The Safari app is causing some issues as well, as in some cases it does not accept certain passwords or won't display some websites correctly.

The reported issues following the iOS 8.0.2 update are not exactly minor, and Apple was already under fire from the previous buggy update. The company has yet to issue a statement in this regards, but should comment on the matter and offer a solution shortly.
