The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A7 has surfaced online in a User Agent Profile (UAProf) on the company's website, suggesting an imminent debut.
Samsung has been rumored for quite some time to be cooking up a new range of metallic handsets that will hit the market as the A Series. While the company is very popular worldwide and its devices enjoy great success, Samsung's love of plastic even in its highest-end devices has long been a cause for criticism.
Not too long ago, Samsung finally unveiled a smartphone that's not made entirely of polycarbonate, introducing the Galaxy Alpha. The semi-premium handset sports a metal frame that makes it feel sturdier and look more stylish, and is rumored to be just the first of a lineup of metallic devices.
Samsung's purported A Series of metallic smartphones reportedly consists of three models: the Galaxy A3, A5, and A7. The Galaxy A3 and A5 have leaked on several occasions so far, especially the latter model, but the A7 remained more of a mystery.
Previous rumors had indicated that the Samsung Galaxy A7 model would be the higher-end of the A Series and would feature a Full HD display, and now more information has surfaced regarding this elusive handset.
More specifically, the Galaxy A7 was recently spotted in a UAProf on Samsung's website, sporting model number SM-A700FD, the Galaxy Club first reported. It's worth pointing out that the "D" in a handset's model number denotes dual-SIM support, which is a wildly popular feature in emerging markets.
The UAProf in question also confirms that the Samsung Galaxy A7 will indeed have a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, at a pixel density of 401 ppi. Moreover, the listing further reveals that the smartphone will pack a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz.
In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy A7 is expected to sport a form factor similar to the Galaxy Alpha, i.e. a more premium look compared to other Samsung smartphones. On the software side, the handset should ship with Android 4.4 on board.
Samsung has made no official announcement regarding it's a Series so far, but recent whispers suggest that the Galaxy A3, A5, and A7 may debut sometime in November.
