After AT&T, T-Mobile is now the second U.S. carrier to announce pricing and availability details for the popular Moto 360 smartwatch.
The Android Wear-powered Moto 360 from Motorola is widely considered one of the best (if not the best) smartwatches currently available on the market. Top-notch technology and a stylish, classic watch design have made the Moto 360 very popular, and the smartwatch is now set to be more widely available.
Moto 360 is not available from Google Play for now, albeit stores such as Best Buy or Amazon are offering the smartwatch. For many interested buyers, however, carrier offers may be preferable, so here's what's in store for the Moto 360.
AT&T was the first to offer pricing and availability details for the Moto 360, announcing that it will offer the smartwatch starting on Friday, Nov. 7. The AT&T Moto 360 will be available at full retail price starting at $249, but the carrier is slashing $50 off that price tag if you buy the new Moto X as well. This brings the price of the Moto 360 down to $199, and may be a perfect deal for those who were already planning to purchase both the smartwatch and the second-generation Moto X smartphone.
T-Mobile, meanwhile, will apparently start selling the Moto 360 next week, but it has yet to issue an official press release in this regards. Nevertheless, T-Mobile Product Manager Des Smith said on Twitter that the carrier will start offering the Moto 360 on Nov. 12.
No official details are available for now regarding T-Mobile's pricing scheme for the Moto 360, but the carrier should offer it either at full retail price, or subsidized with its monthly installment plan.
Sprint has yet to mention whether it will be offering the Moto 360 as well and, if so, when and for how much. Verizon Wireless, meanwhile, has the Moto 360 with a metal band on back order, for $249.99, and says it will ship by Dec. 5.
In conclusion, only AT&T and T-Mobile, the nation's two largest GSM carriers, will be offering the Moto 360 in the near future. T-Mobile is expected to offer pricing details closer to launch, and we'll make sure to keep you up to date as soon as we hear more.
