A new Lumia device will reportedly make its debut soon as an entry-level Lumia 435, and more information is now available in this regards.
Microsoft has recently launched the Lumia 535 as the very first Lumia smartphone to ditch the "Nokia" moniker from its name. Nokia Lumia devices have stirred lots of interest worldwide and significantly boosted the market share of Microsoft's Windows Phone platform, but Microsoft wants to take it to the next level in its own way. After purchasing Nokia's device unit, the Redmond giant rebranded the lineup from Nokia Lumia to Microsoft Lumia.
The Microsoft Lumia 535 arrived as the first handset under the new branding, and the Lumia 435 is now expected to join the party soon enough. According to an exclusive new report from Nokia Power User (NPU), this upcoming Lumia 435 will arrive soon as an entry-level offering with modest specifications on board. Moreover, the publication expects the device to launch in several models, including single- and dual-SIM variants.
"We also believe that earlier leaked Lumia variants RM-1068, RM-1070, RM-1071, RM-1032, RM-1034 and RM-1069 belong to this device only, which will arrive globally in both Single-Sim and Dual-Sim avatars," NPU reports.
The publication further mentions that RM-1068 and RM-1032 are dual-SIM variants, while all other are single-SIM models of the upcoming Microsoft Lumia 435. The handset's variants have already received certification in Indonesia, as well as the FCC in the U.S.
In terms of specifications, the Microsoft Lumia 435 will reportedly sport a 4-inch display with a modest resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and pack a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor under the hood. The device may also come with hardware touch buttons, according to NPU, and sport a 5-megapixel camera.
The FCC listing believed to be for the Lumia 435 further revealed the size of the device, detailing that it will measure 118.1 x 64.7 mm.
Lastly, NPU also received an alleged image of the device (see above) from a source in China, but can't vouch for the accuracy of this photo. The design seems similar to that of the Nokia X family, which would fall in line with previous reports claiming that Microsoft will replace the Nokia X family with entry-level devices running Windows Phone.
No additional details are available at this point regarding the rest of the specifications, and it remains unclear just when the Microsoft Lumia 435 will make its official debut, in which markets, or how much it will cost. We'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more, but take everything with a grain of salt until an official unveiling.
