Huawei has expanded its product lineup with a new Android tablet called the Honor T1, which offers decent specs and a neat design on a budget.
Budget-friendly Android tablets have become increasingly popular in recent years, with all sorts of offerings popping up on the market. Affordable price tags mean that such slates don't come with any top-notch specifications on board, but they are nonetheless capable enough to offer a decent performance. In other words, if you don't need a tablet for demanding tasks or to replace your laptop, budget tablets can be trusty companions.
Not too long ago, Huawei started touting a new Android tablet called the Honor T1. The tablet is now official and ready for commercial availability, hitting Europe later this month. The new Huawei Honor T1 will be available for €130 and is currently promoted on the company's Hi Honor website, which popped up a few months ago to boost the popularity the Honor brand on a global scale.
As previously mentioned, the Huawei Honor T1 tablet is designed to cater to the budget segment of the market, which means that it comes with modest specifications on board.
More specifically, the Honor T1 sports an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, and features 1GB of RAM. Other specs include 8GB of internal storage capacity, microSD for additional memory, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front shooter, and 3G connectivity with voice calling. The tablet has a large 4,800 mAh battery that will last for up to 20 days in standby, or roughly 40 hours of usage. On the software side, the slate ships with the older Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board.
Despite the mediocre specifications, however, the Honor T1 looks and feels premium, boasting a sleek aluminum unibody design that is usually reserved for higher-end devices.
The Huawei Honor T1 has already hit commercial availability in India, where it sells for 9,999 INR (roughly $157 or €126). As previously mentioned, the tablet is set to go on sale soon in Europe as well, launching at €130.
