Most models of the powerful Microsoft Surface Pro 3 are now $100 cheaper in the U.S. as part of a new limited-time promotion, and a free sleeve is included as well.
The only Surface Pro 3 variant that does not get a discount as part of this deal is the entry-level model with an Intel i3 processor and 64GB of internal storage capacity, which retains its regular pricing of $799.
The other Surface Pro 3 models, meanwhile, get a $100 discount for a limited time, and Microsoft is also throwing in a free protective sleeve for the tablet. The promotional sale is available for the i5 model in either 128GB or 256GB configurations, as well as the i7 model in both 256GB and 512GB internal storage configurations.
As part of this promotion, the Surface Pro 3 is priced as follows:
- Intel Core i3, 64GB - $799 (unchanged)
- Intel Core i5, 128GB - $899 (down from $999)
- Intel Core i5, 256GB - $1,199 (down from $1,299)
- Intel Core i7, 256GB - $1,449 (down from $1,549)
- Intel Core i7, 512GB - $1,849 (down from $1,949)
The fine print on the Surface Pro 3 sales page on the Microsoft Store reveals that this discount will be available until Saturday, Feb. 7. The free sleeve, meanwhile, will be available until April 5. Interested customers can take advantage of this promotional sale both through Microsoft's online store and through select retail outlets in the U.S.
It's worth pointing out, however, that Microsoft has also limited this offer to a maximum of three tablets per customer, the fine print further reads.
The Surface Pro 3 is Microsoft's most advanced tablet to date, and the company markets the device as a great alternative to a standard laptop. According to Microsoft, the high-end Surface Pro 3 can replace your laptop without compromising on specs or power.
Microsoft has also repeatedly highlighted the advantages its Surface Pro 3 offers compared to Apple's iPad Air, and likely hopes this new promotion will make it easier for consumers to choose between the two devices.
It remains to be seen whether more consumers will choose the Surface Pro 3 over the iPad Air, but the new $100 discount definitely makes Microsoft's tablet more attractive to prospective buyers.
