The Motorola Moto Maxx smartphone powerhouse, i.e. the global version of the Verizon Droid Turbo, is apparently headed to India via Flipkart.
Motorola released its Droid Turbo smartphone last year as a Verizon Wireless exclusive in the U.S. The handset boasts top-notch specs and features all around, as well as a strong battery life, and has raised tremendous interest since its debut. The company later announced that it will make the Droid Turbo available globally as well, albeit under the Moto Maxx moniker, with equally impressive specifications on board.
The Moto Maxx saw great success in the markets it reached, and it now appears that it's ready to exoand its availability and hit India as well.
Indian retailer Flipkart has just posted a teaser on Twitter, hinting at an imminent Moto Maxx launch in the country. The teaser doesn't specifically mention the Moto Maxx or Droid Turbo names, but it does give precious hints that don't leave much room for interpretation.
"Get your life Turbocharged. Accelerated Performance. Ballistic Nylon Fairing. Revving in soon," reads the teaser, clearly suggesting that the Moto Maxx, aka Droid Turbo, is on its way.
As a reminder, the smartphone boasts a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (565 ppi), a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, Adreno 420 graphics, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage capacity. Other specs include a 21-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 4K video capture, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a powerful 3,900 mAh battery. Connectivity options consist of dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, GPS, and GLONASS. On the software side, the handset launched with Android 4.4.4 KitKat on board but is upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
With such impressive specs and features, it's no surprise that Flipkart calls it a "Moto beast." The retailer has yet to announce an exact launch date or pricing details for the Moto Maxx, but should provide more information shortly.
Lastly, the teaser also notes that the Moto beast will launch as an exclusive to Flipkart.
