LG has released an official trailer for its new LG Watch Urbane, teasing the luxurious design of its latest Android Wear smartwatch.
The LG Watch Urbane aims to combine fashionable style with high-tech smartwatch capabilities, and the result is quite impressive. The gadget looks sleek and is made of premium materials, and it's suitable for both men and women. LG touts it as the perfect accessory, not just a watch.
"As its name suggests, the smartwatch is designed for a sophisticated and cosmopolitan wearer that delivers unparalleled technology and performance. LG Watch Urbane is the perfect device for wearers looking to add both style and high-tech flare to their everyday lives," the company said in a press release last week, when it first announced the LG Watch Urbane.
In terms of design, the new LG Watch Urbane builds on the previous LG G Watch R, retaining the fully-circular P-OLED display, albeit rocking a thinner bezel for a more stylish look. The gadget is made of premium stainless steel and comes in polished silver and gold finish, with a natural leather strap. Users will also be able to replace the strap with any 22mm-wide band, if they so prefer.
"Resembling a luxury timepiece, LG combined a classic design and innovative features to add style and convenience to everyday life while raising the already high standards set by its predecessor," further touted the company.
When it comes to specifications, the new LG Watch Urbane features a 1.3-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood, clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 512MB of RAM. Other specs include 4GB of internal storage capacity, a 410 mAh battery, a PPG sensor to measure the wearer's heart rate and pulse, and IP67 certification for dust and water resistance. On the software side, the LG Watch Urbane runs Android Wear and is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 or newer.
The company will be showcasing its sleek new LG Watch Urbane next week at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, where it is expected to offer more details in terms of pricing and availability. Until then, check out the video below to get a better idea of what to expect.
