Sprint announced an exciting new deal for customers willing to switch to its network, offering to pay for the cost of the move.
It's not very clear at this point whether Sprint managed to hold on to its position as the third largest carrier in the U.S., but the operator is nonetheless keen on attracting more customers to its network.
It's not the first time a carrier makes such an offer, and it will most likely not be the last, but it's nonetheless good news for consumers who are considering shifting to Sprint.
More specifically, subscribers who are still locked into a contract with some other carrier can now switch to Sprint and have all their costs reimbursed, meaning that Sprint will cover the early termination fees (ETF), as well as any remaining payments on a device installment, if necessary.
"Sprint is taking it up a notch for customers in search of greater-value from their wireless carrier. Beginning today, Sprint is making it easy for U.S. wireless consumers to join Sprint's 56 million customers by reimbursing all of the costs to switch, including early termination fees and remaining payments on phone installment plans - no matter what is owed," the carrier boasted in a press release on Friday, March 13.
In order to take advantage of this offer, interested customers must first of all bring their number from any other carrier, complete with the early termination fee and phone installment plan balance. As expected, you'd also have to activate a device on Sprint Easy Pay, iPhone for Life Plan, or Sprint Lease, or pay the full retail price with a new line of service. Complete the online registration form at this link, and upload a bill that clearly shows applicable charges so Sprint can reimburse you the cost within 60 days of activation.
At the same time, customers will have to turn in competitor phones tied to the bill they submitted. The devices must be in good working condition. Sprint will simplify this process to make it as hassle-free as possible by sending customers a prepaid return kit in the mail. The reimbursement award will then be paid via American Express Reward Card after online registration.
