Microsoft unveils Windows 10-ready Lumia 430 Dual SIM - Most affordable Lumia yet

Microsoft just announced a new budget Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone, introducing the Lumia 430 Dual SIM as the most affordable Lumia to date.

The company had just recently unveiled the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL earlier this month back at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, shooting for the affordable segment of the smartphone market.

If those two handsets were not budget-friendly enough, however, the company is now back with an even more affordable device.

"With a price tag of 70 USD, the Lumia 430 Dual SIM becomes the most affordable Lumia to-date, bringing smartphone experiences, the latest apps and signature Microsoft services to many more people, sometimes for the very first time," Microsoft touts in a new announcement on Thursday, March 19, on the Lumia Conversations blog.

"Loaded with Windows Phone 8.1 and the Lumia Denim Update, the Lumia 430 Dual SIM is also the most affordably priced Lumia that can upgrade to Windows 10 when it becomes available later this year."

When it comes to specifications, the new Microsoft Lumia 430 Dual SIM features a 4-inch display with a WVGA resolution of 800 x 480, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 2-megapixel rear camera, a 0.3-megapixel front shooter, 8GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 128GB, and a 1,500 mAh removable battery.

In terms of features, the Lumia 430 Dual SIM comes with Microsoft Office preloaded, which means that users will be able to work with Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, as well as Excel sheets. The handset also features seamless Skype integration and comes with up to 30GB of free OneDrive cloud storage space.

Smart Dual SIM, meanwhile, will allow users to assign unique profiles to their SIM cards, as well as make use of the call forwarding feature.

The Microsoft Lumia 430 Dual SIM will hit retail in April, launching in APAC, IMEA, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus. Pricing will vary by market, but should be around $70 before taxes and subsidies. The Lumia 430 Dual SIM will be available in black and bright orange color options. For more information, check out the product page on Microsoft's website at this link.
