An intriguing new image made its way online, showing what seems to be the much-rumored LG G4 Note.
The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 came and went, but a new-generation smartphone from LG was notably absent. While HTC, Samsung, and others unveiled their latest flagships at the show, LG chose to wait a while longer to officially announce its new hardware.
The rumor mill has been churning in anticipation for a good while now, and recent whispers hint at two new and exciting devices: a flagship LG G4 and a stylus-equipped LG G4 Note variant.
The purported LG G4 has already leaked online on several occasions, and even LG itself did some teasing of its own to boost excitement even further. A new leak has now made its way online, surfacing on the XDA Developers forum, showing a new-generation LG handset in four new images.
While some believe these images depict the actual LG G4, some clues indicate that it could in fact be the LG G4 Note instead. As you can see in the image above, the top right corner of the device seems to have a special housing for a stylus, which leads us to believe that the handset pictured here is the LG G4 Note. As a reminder, the LG G3 Stylus had its pen in the exact same spot on its top right side.
The newly-leaked images further show a more square-ish camera sensor compared to the one found on the LG G3, as well as a slightly changed power button that now looks like a rounded rectangle instead of a circle. Overall, however, the handset seems to have the same design language of the LG G3. In terms of software, the images shows the device running Android Lollipop.
It remains unclear at this point whether the device will come with a metallic body or not. Last year, the LG G3 launched with what looked like a brushed aluminum casing, but in fact it was just plastic masquerading as metal thanks to a neat paint job. Recent rumors indicated that LG will not be able to transition to a full-metal design in time for the LG G4 launch, but the LG G4 Note is expected to boast a metallic body.
It all remains in the rumor state at this point, however, so it's best to take all leaks with a grain of salt, including this one.
