LG G4 official trailer teases camera f/1.8 aperture (VIDEO)

LG is further boosting excitement ahead of its big LG G4 flagship launch later this month, and has now posted the first teaser video for the smartphone.

The company is revealing one piece of the puzzle at a time, dropping one hint after another ahead of the official LG G4 unveiling on April 28. After showcasing a new 5.5-inch QHD IPS display that will grace its next-generation flagship, LG touted the smartphone's new user experience (UX) and is now back with some more ammo.

In the first teaser video for the upcoming LG G4, the company is now focusing on the handset's rear camera, revealing that it will sport an f/1.8 aperture. When the f number is lower, it means the aperture opening is greater and more light reaches the sensor for each spot. This will come particularly in handy when taking photos in low-lit environments, or when you want to capture a shot with the background blurred out of focus.

With an f/1.8 aperture, the LG G4 would be ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S6, which has an f/1.9 aperture, the Sony Xperia Z3, which has an f/2.0 aperture, or the HTC One M9 and the iPhone 6, both of which have an f/2.2 aperture. At the same time, it would also mark a notable step forward from the f/2.4 aperture of its predecessor, the LG G3.

Moreover, the next-generation LG G4 is also expected to come with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Laser Auto Focus.

The teaser video further shows the contour of the LG G4, but no clear design clues reveal what the handset will look like. It seems to resemble the LG G3's form factor based on its silhouette.

From what the company teased so far, we know that the LG G4 will sport a 5.5-inch QHD display with a number of innovations, a new UX version 4.0 with several new features, and a high-end rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The handset is further rumored to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 or 810 processor under the hood, paired with 2GB of RAM.

As previously mentioned, the new LG G4 flagship is set to make its official debut later this month, on April 28, and more details will likely surface closer to launch. We'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more, so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out the company's new teaser video below.
