Microsoft's budget-friendly Lumia 435, i.e. the cheapest Lumia yet, is now available for purchase in the U.S. for just $70 contract-free, on T-Mobile.
The low-cost Microsoft Lumia 435 made its official debut back in January as the most affordable Lumia smartphone ever, aiming to offer a good performance at a dirt-cheap price.
After hitting commercial availability in the UK last month, the Microsoft Lumia 435 is now ready to retail in the U.S. as well, as the handset is now available with T-Mobile.
The T-Mobile Lumia 435 is now on sale through the Microsoft Store, sporting an attractive price tag of just $70 without a contract. As one can imagine, that price won't get you a powerful smartphone with high-end specs, but the Lumia 435 should nonetheless deliver a decent performance.
As a reminder, the handset features a 4-inch display with a WVGA resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and packs a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor under the hood, clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. Other specs of the Microsoft Lumia 435 include 8GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional memory of up to 128GB, a 2-megapixel rear camera, a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front shooter, and a 1,560 mAh battery. The smartphone also comes with dual-SIM support.
In terms of software, the Microsoft Lumia 435 ships with Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Denim out of the box, which means that it will include popular features such as Cortana, App Corner, and Live Folders. Microsoft's Office suite, consisting of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote is also in the mix, as is Outlook for email, seamless Skype integration, and HERE location services. Microsoft is also throwing in up to 32GB of free OneDrive cloud storage.
