Samsung Galaxy J5, Galaxy J7 spotted on TENAA, should launch soon

Samsung is expected to expand its Galaxy J lineup soon, and more information has now surfaced regarding two upcoming models: the Galaxy J5 and J7.

Rumors of new additions to the Samsung Galaxy J series first started to emerge roughly one month ago, suggesting that the company was gearing up to launch two new handsets. Samsung only has one Galaxy J device - the Galaxy J1 - but new Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 models are reportedly en route.

The purported Samsung Galax J5 and Galaxy J7 first received Bluetooth certification last month, which indicated that a launch could be just around the corner. User agent profiles (UAProfs) on Samsung's mobile website have also confirmed some of the expected specifications of the upcoming handsets, as SamMobile reported at the time. The two devices have now been spotted on TENAA, China's equivalent of the FCC, further suggesting an imminent debut.

TENAA is the authority charged with certifying electronic devices for use in the People's Republic, and it usually doesn't take long for a device to hit the market once it has received TENAA certification.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 have both appeared on TENAA now, complete with specs and images, according to Blog of Mobile (1, 2). This indicates that the two handsets could make an imminent debut, as passing through the mandatory regulatory process in a key market is an important step forward.

When it comes to specifications, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy J5 will apparently feature a 5-inch display (unspecified resolution), a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory, and a 2,600 mAh battery to keep things up and running.

The Samsung Galax J7, meanwhile, will sport a larger 5.5-inch display (unspecified resolution), a Marvel PXA1936 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage capacity, and a 3,000 mAh battery. Both the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 will apparently boast 13-megapixel rear cameras and 5-megapixel front shooters, and both will come with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on board out of the box.

It remains unclear at this point just when the new Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 will make their official debut, but the TENAA certification suggests that a launch is just around the corner.
