The recently-announced LG G4c, i.e. the smaller version of the company's flagship, is now available for pre-order in the UK from Carphone Warehouse.
Rumors of an LG G4 Mini or G4c ("c" for "Compact") had been intensifying ahead of the smartphone's official announcement, and LG formally introduced its new LG G4c alongside a mid-range G4 Stylus variant last week.
The LG G4c comes as a more compact version of the flagship LG G4, and it also packs watered-down specifications to accommodate a lower price tag. Mini versions of flagships usually come with more modest specs on board, and the LG G4c is no exception.
More specifically, the LG G4c sports a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional memory, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front shooter. The handset further supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and LTE connectivity, ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, and features a 2,540 mAh battery that should provide a decent performance on a single charge.
As the specs suggest, the LG G4c is a mid-range smartphone aimed at more budget-conscious shoppers, but it should nonetheless deliver a good experience for its category. The handset also features the "rear key layout" of recent LG smartphones, sporting the power button and volume rocker on its back rather than on the sides.
The new LG G4c is now available for pre-order from Carphone Warehouse in the UK, ahead of its retail release next month. The retailer is offering various monthly installment options for the LG G4c, starting as low as £15.50. Available color options include Metallic Gray, Ceramic White, and Shiny Gold, but only the Gray variant is available in stores. The Ceramic White and Shiny Gold avatars are available exclusively online, from Carphone Warehouse's website.
The retailer notes that it expects to start shipping LG G4c pre-orders to customers on June 8, so the commercial launch of the handset in the UK should be set on or around June 8 as well. We'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more about the handset's pricing and availability in other markets, so stay tuned.
