Best goodies from Microsoft and Xbox at E3 2015

Monday, June 15, Microsoft hosted its press conference at E3 and the company delivered some exciting news living up to the expectations of those present. Key announcements such as Minecraft in HoloLens, a new "Elite" Xbox controller, Halo 5, Tomb Raider, and Gears of War are just a few of the new goodies for gamers.

Microsoft is working on backing up 'backward compatibility' by making Xbox One able to play 360 games. A batch of 100 last generation game titles is tweaked by Microsoft to be playable in their latest console.

Gamers will be able to play in 'multiplayer mode' their old games with the new Xbox One, with friends that own the 360. Among others, the game titles on the first batch of 100 include Super Meat Boy, Banjo Kazooie, Mass Effect, and Perfect Dark.

When it comes to new game titles, on September 15, it is set to launch Forza Motorsport 6. Gamers can expect some stunning graphics, over 450 cars to choose from, six different destinations, an all-new dynamic weather feature, and multiplayer support for 24 cars.

An all-new title is coming from the makers of Metroid Prime and Keiji Inafune, the Mega Man developer. The trailer of ReCore suggests that this is some sort of an adventure title where you befriend and fight robots. The game will be released in the spring of 2016.

Lara Croft: Rise of the Tomb Raider is back again. The title will be available first on the 360 and Xbox One before being made available on the PS 4. Tomb Raider will feature a new style and will be more focused on Lara Croft being a girl adventurer trying to survive insurmountable odds rather than being a gun-toting badass. Gamers can expect detailed visuals, great background scores, and a storyline that connects you with the character.

The new customizable "Elite" Xbox gamepad controller works on Windows 10 as well. The Elite comes with a D-pad that can be swapped out, customizable controls, and four interchangeable rear paddles made of stainless steel. The toggle hair trigger locks on the top buttons and thumb-stick sensitivity are customizable through a standalone app for Xbox One and Windows 10. Users can save two profiles on the gamepad itself, and the settings on the cloud.
