Everyone is waiting for the Windows 10, thanks to the pre-launch hype created by Microsoft. Depending to the edition you chose, you might have to pay up to $199 for the Windows 10 upgrade. Users who plan to install the new Windows version need to have Windows 7 or 8.1 already installed on their computer.
But did you know that you can actually get Windows 10 for free, no matter whether or not you have Windows 7 or 8 already installed on your PC? For those Microsoft OS users who don't feel like spending too much for the new operating system upgrade, this is very good news.
You may get your Windows 10 free of cost, according to a blog published on Microsoft company's website. You might be able to install your Windows 10 copy by the end of July if you follow the process outlined on the blog. But, in order to be eligible for the free Windows package, you need to install first the Insider Preview release of the Windows 10 version.
According to Microsoft, the final build of Windows 10 is currently a work in progress and is set to be launched to the market on July 29. The Insider Program will evolve into opt-in, once the new Windows 10 version of the operating system is released today, July 29. Users can opt-in by logging in with their Microsoft account.
The company promises to improve their Windows Insider Program, even after the final version of Window 10 will be launched later in July. The Insider Program will be kept up-to-date, bug fixes and all the new features would be rolled out for users. Microsoft is confident that there won't be too many reasons that would make users take the initiatives from the Insider Program.
Whether you get the new Windows 10 version through the Insider Program in a preview form or just later on July 29, the operating system is intended to be installed only on Genuine Windows devices. For users who want to keep getting preview builds even after July 29 and to continue as a Windows Insider, there is nothing more they need to do.
For those users who want to upgrade their Genuine Windows 7 or 8.1 system to the July 29 Windows 10 release and stop being an Insider, they will be subject to the same terms and conditions if they decide to opt-out. If they upgraded their system from a Genuine Windows 7 or 8.1, their license will remain activated. But if they did not have a genuine license, they will need to acquire a new Windows 10 license or roll back to a previous Windows OS version.
