Facebook announced that its social network platform will be soon filled up with instant articles.
Facebook proposes to its users a new "instant articles" initiative. After a slow start, the social network's new initiative has started to gain momentum and it is expected that soon the platform will be filled up with instant articles.
Some of the big players such as NBC News, BuzzFeed, New York Times, and other big names have shown interest to post as many as 40 articles a day, while other lesser known names may publish up to 15 articles a day.
Publishers are ready to start publishing content, waiting only for Facebook's green light. The giant social media company has fixed the last issues on the new feature and it is expected that the number of instant articles posted to increase dramatically.
In the past, some of the publishers have shown concerns regarding the controller role Facebook may play in selecting the articles to be posted, while others were worried that Facebook introduced the new instant articles features as a means to get a hold of the Internet traffic.
Facebook defended their new Instant Articles feature by claiming that it will provide a fast and interactive experience for users reading articles in their News Feed. Until now the Web articles in the Facebook app took eight seconds in average to load. This was the slowest content app on Facebook, but with the Instant Articles feature, things are set to change.
The new Facebook feature is using the same technology used to load videos and photos quickly in their mobile app. Thanks to this technology - it is expected that Instant Articles will load as much as ten times faster than standard mobile web articles. Instant Articles also comes with new features such as embedded audio captions, auto-play videos, tilt-to-pan photos, and interactive maps.
Publishers will be able to create fast interactive articles on Facebook via the Instant Articles feature and will keep full control over their brand experience, their stories, and their monetization opportunities.
Once the initial concerns started to wear off, most of the publishers on Facebook are excited with the new possibility of posting most of their content into the feed. Publishers have shown an increased interest to post more articles each day. The growing input from major publishers on Facebook social network platform will help the new Instant Articles feature to reach a new height.
