Samsung has announced a $200 rebate for its Galaxy Note 4 model. The rebate is being offered by the company until 11:59 pm on July 26. The claiming period for the $200 is until August 26.
To avail the rebate, the Galaxy Note 4 should be bought at full price. Then a form should be filled up on the Samsung website. Information such as a photo of the Note 4's receipt, the date it was bought, and its wi-fi Mac address, are required in the form. A check for $200 will be delivered in 8 to 10 weeks' time, according to Forbes.
The rebate is available to residents of the United States. It is also available to Note 4 buyers in Washington DC. The buyer must be above 18 years old to get the rebate.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been released September last year. Priced at around $700-$900, depending on which store it will be bought from, the $200 rebate has caused excitement among gadget watchers online. It also appears to be drumrolling the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
The lowering of Note 4 prices can also be seen as a bid to score high sales for its successor. The 32-bit Note 4 has enjoyed a more positive reception upon release. Note 5, on the other hand, has been receiving flak regarding its purported design, which seems to veer away from the Note series' trademark.
Samsung's new flagship device is rumored to be launched September this year. The Note 5 model has had its photos leaked on the internet a few weeks ago. Specs of the device has been making rounds online based on the leaked photos. Many have said that the Galaxy Note 5 resembles the Galaxy S6 more than the other Note models. All-in-all, the response to the leaked design has not been very good.
Samsung is reported to be dropping in sales over the previous months, reports have said. The big sale may indeed be an attempt to increase sales for its next big product.
