Microblogging company Twitter has announced where its second annual Flight developers conference will be held this year. The venue is San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Center. The conference, which centers on Twitter, of course, and software development, is taking place on October 21. The company has been reported to also give updates regarding its ventures and role in the technological ecosystem.
Twitter has also indicated that the developers who will be participating in the conference will be hearing from the company's executives and directors. Last year, the conference unveiled Fabric as a new technology. It is a modular development kit that lets developers explore more platforms for their software and app ventures. This year, Venture Beat reports that Twitter will get developers to have a look at Gnip, a data platform that the company bought in a multimillion dollar deal last year.
Also in Flight's agenda is the company's announcement of updates on Fabric. This year's conference is also projected to possibly be Twitter's first with a new CEO or an acting CEO at least. Last month, co-founder and Twitter chief Dick Costolo left the company. Jack Dorsey, Twitter's first CEO, will be replacing Costolo.
Mashable has indicated introduction of new features in Twitter's Flight conference this year. The site stated in an article that the company, during the conference, may launch its live events platform nicknamed The Lightning Project. The platform may officially be named Moments, and it is important for Twitter's logged-out users. The demographic for the site has increased since Twitter was founded close to 10 years ago.
"We've only shown a fraction of what we're working on publicly," Prashant Sridharan, the company's global director of developer and platform relations, said regarding the conference's agenda. This leaves much to look forward to for the conference attendees, who will have to secure a spot for the event online by visiting the Flight website.
