Microsoft Windows 10 To Be Launched Today

Just anyone running currently a Windows 7 or 8 version is about to get an awesome upgrade. Windows 10 is launching today, on Wednesday, July 29.

This new public release of Microsoft operating system it's everything a PC OS should be: good interface design, familiar, helpful in unexpected ways and very easy to use no matter your level of as a PC user. This is the best part: Windows 10 comes as a free upgrade for the users of Windows 7 and 8.

Microsoft's developer team of software engineers made big efforts to get Windows 10 right. They were opening up a preview version of the software to the public through the tester program, asking for feedback. Dozens of changes were made as a result. Their latest bug that came with the pre-launch update makes Control Panel to crash when users try to uninstall a program. But this could not kill the growing interests building up before the final public release that is set to happen today.

Microsoft is confident their loyal customers will love the new version of Windows. The company has great expectations that Windows 10 will be a great sales success. According to Microsoft, in the next two or three years over 1 billion devices are expected to have installed the new operating system.

There are many reasons why Windows 10 is so great. One of them is that Windows 10 looks familiar. The first thing users will notice about the new version of Windows is how familiar it looks. Its taskbar and desktop are filled with the familiar Start button and app icons. There is no need for learning curve for Windows 10. Unlike Windows 8, anyone who has used a PC before will feel right at home with the new version of operating system.

According to Terry Myerson (Windows chief at Microsoft), "that familiarity is critical" for the company. Microsoft strives to keep their customers engaged and happy with Windows operating systems.

Windows 10 comes also with noticeably better design than previous versions of Microsoft's OSs. The backgrounds, colors, icons and lock screens appear fresh, stylish and modern. Even the system tray icons feel more inviting than in previous versions, including Wi-Fi, volume, battery and calendar.

However, Windows 10 isn't just a rehash of Windows 7 but comes with much more refined features. It is easier to use because it added some smartphone-like touches. Windows 10 Edge, the new default Internet browser, is much more modern and slimmer than its predecessor Internet Explorer. The Windows 10 desktop now allows users to add "virtual desktops" Mac-style, feature that helps clearing away clutter.

Windows 10 Start menu is the biggest makeover. In addition to the common features like apps, power and settings, Windows 10's Start menu also features "Live Tiles". They are unobtrusive here, unlike Windows 8.

Windows 10 is getting personal and gets to know its users pretty well. The search feature is called now Cortana and transformed into your personal guide to your PC. Cortana can tell you when it's time for your next appointment, responds to voice commands and helps you find useful information about your computer and useful apps for your needs.

On short, the new Microsoft Windows 10 operating system improves Windows 7 and reverses the sins of Windows 8.
