Facebook has announced on Wednesday that it made some tweaks to its pages for businesses to be able to address their audiences via Messenger. The changes made seem to point towards the social networking site getting more people to install and use the Messenger app. Whether or not that's the case, it's also smart for Facebook to direct a feature for page managers, who are mostly business owners.
According to Computer World, the added tweak allows page admins to respond to comments privately and directly to a user via Messenger. Before, page owners can only reply to comments by also commenting. They can also just reply to users who message them. Simply, the owners are restricted to respond by how users initiate the exchange. The danger in commenting is that users can see the exchanges between the admin and a particular user. A direct and private way to address the audience is a much-needed change for page owners, which Facebook brought by making the tweak.
Also included in the changes for private messaging between businesses and users via ads. Ads for enterprises that are posted on Facebook will now have the "Send Message" button, which will allow users to inquire about and give feedback to the business right away.
Part of the changes geared for business purposes is the rating users can give to the business. Facebook itself also gives feedback to the businesses, by branding some of them "Very Responsive", if they are able to respond to messages promptly and regularly. The label will be added to their pages.
Facebook has been delving into e-commerce for the past month. The new developments, rather than just simply promoting Messenger, tie up the app to the company's venture in F-commerce. Recently, Facebook has introduced other features for pages, which have already been used to sell products by creative Facebook users who saw it as a good venue for business.
