Despite tablet sales dwindling over the recent years, tech company LG has introduced its latest offering, a new tablet, on Monday, Aug. 24. The 10-inch LG G Pad II 10.1 has been keeping online communities abuzz even before it has hit the tech market.
Apparently, the new device has some attractive features which may turn out to be game-changers for tablet sales. According to Mashable, the tablet is equipped with a screen resolution better than that of its predecessor.
With a 1920×1200 resolution, the display is a big improvement from the 1280×800 pixels of its predecessor. Apart from the better resolution, the G Pad II 10.1 also has a massive battery capacity of 7400 mAh. This is almost always equated with a longer battery life.
Perhaps some minus points of the new device come from its storage. At 16GB, it is smaller than the standard 32GB and 64GB of today's gadgets. The front and rear cameras, at only 2 megapixels and 5 megapixels, are also below the standard 5 megapixels and 8 megapixels combo of recent releases.
The LG G Pad II 10.1 will be released in the IFA next month. The event will be held in Berlin, and will run from September 4 until September 9. Devices from different tech brands are expected to be introduced on the same event. The price of the G Pad II 10.1 has not been disclosed as of this writing.
The 7.4 mm thin, 489 g device seems to prove that the LG, unlike its competitors, is not out to make its devices smaller. Apple and Samsung have been releasing increasingly smaller tablets and adding features to them.
Apple has recently made the split-screen view available to the iPad Mini 4 while Chinese tech company Xiaomi has been reported to be working on a Windows 10 tablet. The devices are reported to be released late this year, either September or October for the iPad and Dec for the Xiaomi tablet.
