Apple Watch Is Second Most Shipped Wearable To Fitbit

The Apple Watch has recently been the subject of online tech news. A lot of activities seems to be going on with the wearable device and the company that made it. The smartwatch has been a hot topic over the internet last month as Apple CEO Tim Cook defended the product's undisclosed sales figures.

The numbers for Apple Watch have been much-speculated and many have claimed that the product is a flop because of the company's refusal to release its revenues from the smartwatch. Now, the latest about the Apple Watch is that it has shipped almost as many units as Fitbit.

Tech website Fortune puts Apple's shipments at 3.6 million units, just less than a million more units behind Fitbit. The basic wearable device is currently the titleholder for the wearable product with most shipments all over the world. Analysts say that Apple Watch is poised to be the best-selling wearable in no time, following the decline of the basic wearable market.

IDC Research Manager for wearables, Ramon Llamas, said that Apple is set to command attention in whatever product market it chooses to enter. He further added that Apple also wins over attention to other brands which are on the same market it is in, making it an advantageous situation for the entire business.

"Fairly or not, Apple will become the stick against which other wearables are measured, and competing vendors need to stay current or ahead of Apple," Llamas said. Apple Watch has been reported to be the top-selling smartwatch despite the device being branded as a flop.

Last week, the Apple Watch has been reported to come to India later this year. Early this month, the company has also launched different sizes for the wearable device. The Sports Band has Large and Extra Large sizes for clients with bigger wrists, which are available in Apple Watch's online store.
